Higher Intermediate: Great Monuments of Mexico

Course Description: In this unique cultural immersion course, students with high intermediate skills will enjoy abundant conversational practice while exploring some of the most fascinating monuments of Mexico! Providing a lens through which to appreciate the history and culture of Mexico, the monuments will represent a wide range of styles and time periods. From Pre-Hispanic pyramids to colonial castles, from markers of historical memory to expansive churches and notable contemporary buildings and museums, these monuments will provide a springboard from which to jump into discussion about many topics.

Through research, class presentations, multi-media resources, and group discussion, this highly participatory course will expand your knowledge about the rich and complex history of Mexico, introduce you to some of the most intriguing sights, and provide you the opportunity to practice and improve all aspects of your language skills - speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Best suited for: Students who have completed at least Intermediate 5 or been recommended Intermediate 6 or advanced courses
