Lesson Three

Introduction:

Now that we’ve gone over some basic concepts in translation and fundamental guidelines for translating DCS documents, it’s time we look at the actual process of translation. In this lesson we will explore the translation process in order to define a method we can use to approach each translation task. We will establish a five step process which will help you to be organized and methodical in your work and to achieve much improved results in your translations.

After completing this lesson you will:

• Be able to identify a 5-step process with which to approach the translation process.
• Be able to apply that method in translating, which will help you to produce the highest quality translation possible.
