Course Description: This accelerated course provides an overview of the material from our 10-class Beginner 1 course in only 5 class sessions. It is designed for students who either have been recommended the Beginner 2 level but would like to begin their studies with review, or for students who are new to learning Spanish, but know some words and phrases and expect they will be very quick learners.
In this course, students will review the most important structures learned in our Beginner 1 level and use them in conversational practice. These structures include noun/adjective agreement, using the verbs "ser" and "estar" for “to be”, and contrasting "ser" and "estar" with "hay".
By the end of the course, students will have learned the grammar structures and vocabulary needed to be able to describe a person, for example, sharing where they are from, what they look like, some personality characteristics, where they are currently, and how they are feeling. The course is intended to prepare students to take the Beginner 2 level next, however the recommendation to move on to that level will be subject to individual recommendations by the instructor based on skill level and progress made.
Best suited for: Students who’ve been recommended our Beginner 2 level, or been recommended the Beginner 1 level and have reason to believe they will be quick learners.
