Spanish Beginner II

Course Description: In this course, students will continue to develop their Spanish abilities in understanding, speaking, reading and writing. It is recommended for those who have successfully completed Spanish Beginner I, or who have studied Spanish previously and have a good understanding of the use of nouns and adjectives, the verbs "ser" and "estar", and how to ask basic questions with interrogatives such as “¿Qué?,¿Dónde?,¿Cuántos?”.

This course will build on the foundations of Beginner I by expanding on the uses of verbs expressing “to be” and “there is/are.”  New material will focus on topics such as how to conjugate regular verbs in the present tense, how to express likes and dislikes, and how to tell time.

Through the use of highly effective group exercises and conversational practice, this course will help students build basic speaking and comprehension skills to discuss life, work, and hobbies.

Prerequisite: Spanish Beginner I or equivalent
